Jeep Cherokee XJ mods

OH my gosh, guys, the Jeep Cherokee XJ is starting to come together.  I am so excited to get this thing put back together and see if she will fire up.  I’ve known all along that this would be a gamble, as I’ve never seen her running.  However, I’m excited to see what will happen and see if we can get her going.

I’m so nervous

I’m also nervous, as I haven’t seen her running, I don’t know if the Jeep Cherokee XJ will actually run.  We were told it was running before it was torn down to find the cracked head. That information gives me hope.

Once we get her running then we need to make sure the transmission will function, as well as the brakes and the drive shaft.  There are still some unknowns with the Jeep, however, I’m still excited.

What Mods Should we do?

With that being said, once we get her up and running, what do you think the first mods should be? It’s a completely stock 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ.  I’m honestly leaning towards lift and tires, however, I don’t know if there is anything I should focus on before lift and tires.

I kinda want to take her off-roading stock, but I also don’t want to damage any of the under-carriage. The trails that we hit would definitely be easier if the Jeep Cherokee XJ had a lift and tires before taking her off-roading.

With all that being said, what are your thoughts on the Jeep?  Should I take her off-roading stock, should I do a lift and tires, or is there another modification you think should go on?
