2022 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 4XE

In the wake of the successful Jeep Wrangler 4XE Jeep has announced a new vehicle for the 2022 lineup. Jeep has announced the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE which is the first electrified Grand Cherokee. They also announced the Grand Cherokee 4XE Trailhawk. Unfortunately, the starting price hasn’t been released. However, the starting price of the wrangler is currently at $51,225.

For those that aren’t aware, the Trailhawk is Jeeps trail-rated Grand Cherokee. Much like the Trackhawk was designed for the track, the Trailhawk was designed with the trails in mind.

Overall, The 4xe system will deliver 375 horsepower (280 kW) and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE, targeting an estimated 25 miles of all-electric range, returns an estimated 57 MPGe and has an estimated total range of more than 440 miles.

Electric Vehicle Off-Road

One thing that may be concerning, is taking the electric vehicle off-roading. However, according to Jeep high-voltage electronics are sealed and waterproof. The Trail Rated Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is capable of water fording up to 24 inches. This is good to know, If I were to put that much into an off-road vehicle, I wouldn’t want to hold back on it.

As great as all-electric may be, However, I never thought in my day we would be phasing out gas engines. Most manufacturers are pushing for an all-electric lineup of vehicles.  I never thought I would see it happen to Jeep. I thought Jeep would want all the power the Gasoline engines give them.
